Watt's Family Stew!

Passed down from Grandfather, to father, to son.

3 Large Tomatos
4-5 Large Potatos
2 Cans Corn
3 Bell Peppers (we use red and orange)
1/2 Large White Onion (or one full small one)
6 Carrots
3 Cups Green Beans
1 32 oz. Chicken Broth (low sodium)
1 32 oz. Beef Broth
1 24 oz. Bottle of Mild Pace Picante Sauce (salsa)

* In our picture you see some frozen and some canned foods. This is because they are not exactly in season. Feel free to substitute canned and frozen veggies when needed.

Feel free to experiment with different veggies and meat combinations. We would love to hear how they work out! One of our favorites, that we aren't using this time (out of season), is to add summer squash.
Start browning the beef while you get everything else ready

Dice the peppers

Slice the sausage

Dice half of the onion

Brown the sausage
Throw the stew meat and sausage into the large stew pot (don't drain)

Add all the veggies
Bring to a boil over medium heat. Continue to boil for 5 min.
After you have brought it to a boil for 5 min., turn heat down to low. Simmer for 4-5 hours with lid on, stirring every 30 min. For the last 45min - hour, remove lid and let some of the excess liquid cook off.

Serve with Sodium Crackers and/or dinner rolls. ENJOY!
